"Good, better, best never let me rest until my good is better, and my better is best!" - Tim Duncan
In 1891, the game of basketball was invented at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts by Dr. James Naismith. Over 115 years later, YMCA's continue to teach the game of basketball to youth all across the world.
At the Kerr County YMCA, we offer basketball leagues in the winter, spring and summer. Our leagues begin teaching the game to our youngest age group, the 4 and 5 year olds. We also have leagues that range in age up to the age of 18.
We also invite anyone interested in sharing their knowledge of the game by volunteering to be a coach, assistant coach, referee or team parent. The game of basketball is a team sport and together with our volunteers, the Kerr County YMCA is able to provide a safe, fun, learning environment where all of the family can enjoy the sport of basketball.
