KERR COUNTY YMCA Highlights PDF Print E-mail

1990 The Kerr County YMCA was chartered as a branch of the YMCA of San Antonio.  The Founders committee was led by Dr. Rand Zuber.

1991 Began providing Youth Basketball program

1995 Began providing Youth Flag Football

1997 Began providing Youth Roller Hockey program

1998 Began providing Youth Girls Volleyball program

1999 Began providing Teen Basketball program

2000 Kerr County YMCA and Kerr County Day Care Center (established in 1964) merged operations to  provide quality full day child care opportunities to the families of our community.

Began collaboration with Kerrville I.S.D. to provide After School program in Elementary Schools

Began providing Youth Tackle Football program.

2003 Began providing Summer Soccer and Summer Basketball

2007 Began providing Dodge Ball program.

Separated from the San Antonio Association and received independent charter status from YMCA of the USA. Kerr County YMCA is dedicated to serving our community and addressing the needs and concerns of the families our programs impact.

2009 Moved to our new offices on the Hal Peterson Middle School Campus. This location will also provide programming for 7th and 8th graders. Funding for the renovation was made possible by the Hill Country Charity Ball Association with proceeds of $83,500 raised at the 2008 Ball.
